The aesthetic curves of water cutting through the landscape are always an interesting subject. Water is constantly changing the Montana landscape. Each year the high water cuts out new paths, rearranging trees, rocks, and nature in general. I look forward to visiting these scenes each year. Below is a shot I will visit many times a year. I hiked up the side of a hill to get this shot. The high angle really emphasizes the line of the creek.
Location
Mammoth Hot Springs in Winter
This shot was taken during a very cold morning in Mammoth Hot Springs, located in Yellowstone National Park. There’s a nice path along the upper terrace. The steam produces some very strong contrast, considering the sky is perfect blue and the ground has a thick pillow of fresh snow. This location during a winter sunrise is very inspiring.
