I’m a cloud chaser. Fluffy cloud days in Montana are plentiful. Clouds really stand out in black and white. I enjoy capturing these moments and making clouds a big part of my photography. I often find myself on dirt roads, flying down dirt roads, just to capture a fleeting cloud moment.
I’m excited to have a couple photos in the new issue of Digital Photographer magazine. “South Crazies” is featured for an article describing how to use colored filters for black and white photography and “The Wave” is showing how colorful scenes look great in monochrome. It’s time to get out an hit the backroads. I often find myself exploring dirt roads leading to the middle of nowhere and getting some great shots. I recently took this photo near the town of Ringling, MT, then proceeded to get lost on more country roads.
Hiking in the high alpine I find some amazingly reflective lakes. This particular shot is from the Titcomb Basin in the Wind River Range, Wyoming.
I will be showing some fine art prints at the new Gallery des Refuses, 120 E. Park Street, during the July artwalk in Livingston. The show has a meet and greet 5 – 9pm, Friday, July 26th, 2013.
